I forgot to mention that at one point we could see, on flat ground, 14 miles down the road. We couldn't exactly see the road at that distance, but it remained, with a few dips in the road, in our direct line of sight and was exactly where we thought it was as we got closer.
What is that equivalent to? Seeing from Colchester to St. Albans? Whatever.
